support our work

grassroots organizing

We believe big changes happen one person at a time, and so TCE operates door-to-door canvassing offices in partnership with our sister organization, Texas Campaign for the Environment Fund. Canvassing enables us to reach diverse communities across many areas of the state. Our supporters share a common concern for the environment and a respect for the individual who comes to their doorstep with an important public health issue. You can contribute when our canvassers visit your community or call you on the phone – and you can give online at any time, of course.

leave a legacy

We all want to leave behind a better planet for future generations, and one day, a Texas free from pollution. You can support this vision for years to come by including Texas Campaign for the Environment in your estate plans. This not only leaves behind your legacy and commitment to a healthier environment, it also allows you to give beyond your current means and amplify your impact, and it may help you reduce your estate taxes.

A bequest is a gift made through a will or a living trust. It’s the most popular and easiest planned gift, and it costs nothing during your lifetime. A bequest can be included in a new will or added to an existing will or living trust through a simple amendment—often without the expense of hiring a lawyer. gifts of stock

You can also support TCE by contributing stocks or securities. Your gift is equal to the fair market value of the stock, and you avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the current value over the original cost of the stock if you held them for more than one year. You may also save by not incurring brokerage fees because you are transferring ownership rather than selling the stock. You can make your gift of stocks as an outright gift or by placing a transfer on death (TOD) designation on your investment account. To learn more about gifts of stock, please contact our Administrative Director at 512-326-5655 or amber(at)texasenvironment(dot)org.

tax-deductible donations

As you may know, TCE is recognized as a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization with the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. The 501(c)(4) designation allows us to actively lobby legislators and other elected and appointed officials – and for this reason, contributions to TCE are not tax-deductible. However, we do have a 501(c)3 non-profit sister organization, Texas Campaign for the Environment Fund. Since this organization is focused on research and education projects, all donations are 100% tax-deductible. So please donate to TCE Fund if you’d like to write off your contribution as a charitable gift!

TCE Fund has a variety of other ways people can get involved including donations of personal property such as vehicles and art. TCE Fund is also active in EarthShare of Texas for workplace contributions efforts and other partnerships. See the full gamut of giving options here.
