SUE PAGE

Board Member

Sue Page spent 39 years in public education as a teacher, principal, and district-level administrator, all the while promoting care for the earth. In April 1970 she participated in the first formal Earth Day, and her life was influenced dramatically. While observing and conducting experiments in an estuary in her hometown in Connecticut, she formed a deep connection with the natural world and the responsibility of humans for its protection. She also draws inspiration from her cousin, Jo Ann Gibson Robinson, who was one of the women who started the Montgomery bus boycott in the 1950s. Like her, Sue wants the world to be a better place with human rights that must include clean air, water, and land. She is active in swimming, hiking, cycling, learning to surf, and enjoying the wonders of being outdoors with her grandchildren. Sue sees her membership on the TCE board as a mechanism to promote that vision with a devoted, influential team.
