Jim Klein is a Professor of History at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas. In 2008 he co-founded the Clean Economy Coalition, a locally-based environmental organization seeking to preserve the human and environmental health of the region. In 2014 Jim joined the Cole and Ropes Park Committee to draft an I-plan to reduce harmful bacteria in Corpus Christi Bay. In 2016 Jim joined the board of the Environmental Justice Housing Fund, designed to facilitate the relocation of residents from refinery row. In 2019 Jim was elected Vice Chair of the Coastal Bend Sierra Club group and has served as Chair of the group since 2020. Jim served in an at-large position on the Corpus Christi City Council from 2022 through 2024.
