Dear _________________________,
Thank you for including both paper and plastic bags in the city’s bag ban draft ordinance.
The City of Austin should implement this policy within the shortest time frame possible. Giving the retail, grocer and bag industries almost a decade to take action is unreasonable for Austin taxpayers.
Businesses like HEB and Natural Grocers support a ban on paper and plastic checkout bags and Austin should encourage businesses that want to change policies to protect our environment.
Please respond to my comments in writing at my home address below or via email at: ______________________________________.
